El Estado de Israel desplegó un impresionante operativo de seguridad el pasado jueves 7 de Julio de 2011, pidiendo a diferentes aerolineas internacionales impedir el abordaje a unos 300 viajeros que se encontraban en una de sus listas negras, los viajeros fueron rechazados en los vuelos con destino a Tel Aviv, anticipándose a la llegada de cientos de activistas pro-Palestinos.

Apesar de las medidas del gobierno Israeli,  algunos de nosotrxs logramos ingresar al país y participar en las acciones que se dieron lugar el 9 de julio del 2011 en varios puntos del territorio Palestino.

La primera accion fué en el poblado de NabiSaleh.

Una caravana conformada por varios grupos pro-Palestinos entre ellos ISM, Anarchists Against the Wall y diferentes individuos tanto internacionales como israelís y palestinos se dirijió al poblado.

NabiSaleh cuenta con una fuente de agua dulce, la cual servía a la comunidad palestina hasta que los pobladores de uno de los asentamientos isrelíes al lado del pueblo decidieron ponerle una reja a la fuente y apropiársela. Desde entonces los pobladores de NabiSaleh y simpatizantes, se manifiestan cada semana y desafían al ejército con cruzar al otro lado de la fuente (territorio Israelí).

Sin embargo y para sorpresa del ejército Israeli, se  llegó lo mas cerca que se ha podido en los últimos dos años, la protesta no se dió desde los cerros circuntantes como es acostumbrado, sino en medio de la carretera, obstruyendo el tráfico y haciendo el enfrentamiento cara a cara con el ejército. 

No habían pasado  ni 5 minútos cuando los integrantes de la caravana se habían bajado de los autobuses, el ejército comenzó a lanzar gas lacrimógeno y bombas de ruido, la mayoria de estos caían en los campos de pastizal que al contacto se encendían.

Todo duro aproximadamente 2 hrs, entre jaloneos, empujones e intentos de pasar la valla. Los soldados que sin pensarlo dos veces apuntaban sus armas contra los activistas, detuvieron aproximadamente a 7 compañerxs, de los cuáles 4 fueron soltados al final de la protesta, sin embargo 3 compañerxs Israelíes tuvieron que pasar la noche encarcelados. Afortunadamente no hubo heridos de gravedad.

The State of Israel deployed an impressive security operation on Thursday July 7th, 2011, asking different international airlines to prevent boarding about 300 travelers who were in one of their blacklists. The travelers were refused to board Tel Aviv bound flights, anticipating the arrival of hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists.

In spite of the efforts of the Israeli government, some of us were able to enter the country and participated in the actions that took place on July 9th, 2011 in various parts of the Palestinian territory.

The first action was in the town of NabiSaleh.

A caravan composed of several pro-Palestinian groups, including ISM, Anarchists Against the Wall and different individuals, internationals, Israeli and Palestinian headed towards the village.

NabiSaleh has a source of fresh water, which served the Palestinian community until the settlers who live across the village decided to put a fence around the source and appropriated it. Since then the inhabitants of NabiSaleh and supporters demonstrate each week, challenging the army and trying to cross to the other side near the water.

But to the surprise of the Israeli army, the demonstration got as close as it has been in the past two years. The protest didn’t happen from the surrounding hills, but in the middle of the road, blocking traffic and creating face to face confrontation with the army.

Not even 5 minutes after the members of the caravan had left the buses, the army began firing tear gas and sound bombs. Most of these fell into the fields of grass and set fire on contact.

The action lasted about 2 hours, between jostling, pushing and attempts to pass to the other side.
Soldiers without thinking twice pointed their weapons against activists, arrested about 7 comrades, of which 4 were released at the end of the protest. However 3 Israeli comrades had to spend the night in jail. Luckily there were no serious injuries.
